Getting started with Storebird

Storebird is an AI sales employee for your WooCommerce store. It answers customer questions using your real product catalog, your order data and your own content — in the chat widget on your storefront, and on the other channels you connect.

This page is the short path from empty account to live chat. Each step links to a page with the details.

The 15-minute path

1. Create your account

Sign up at storebird.ai/start-trial. You land in the dashboard with one website slot ready.

2. Connect your store

Install the free Storebird plugin from the WordPress plugin directory and connect it. Your products, variations, stock and prices sync automatically. See Connect your WooCommerce store.

3. Check what the AI knows

Open Knowledge Base. Storebird syncs the pages of your website (shipping, returns, FAQ) alongside your product catalog. Add anything that only lives in your head. See Knowledge base.

4. Set the tone

Open Branding & Tone. Set the chat name, welcome message, colours, and how formal or enthusiastic the AI should be. See Branding and tone of voice.

5. Test it yourself

While you are on the free plan the widget renders only for you as the logged-in store owner. Ask it the ten questions your customers actually ask. See Test mode and going live.

6. Go live

Start a subscription and the widget starts answering real visitors. See Plans, limits and stores.

What to do in your first week

• Read back the first real conversations in your Inbox. This is the fastest way to see where the AI is thin.
• Fix wrong or incomplete answers with Improve this answer — the correction becomes knowledge. See Train your AI.
• Check the Unanswered questions tab weekly. Every question there is a gap your customers cared enough to ask about.
