Do customers need to log in to track their order?

No. There is no account and no customer portal. The shopper gives the order number and the email address or postcode on the order; Storebird checks they match and then shows the status. It is verified, but frictionless.

Is the order data real-time or synced overnight?

Real-time. Storebird fetches the order live from your WooCommerce at the moment of the question, so the status is always current. Products are indexed for search, but orders are never synced or cached — they are read on demand.
